Foundation in Brief

A non-profitable establishment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that participates in charitable, health, cultural and social works.
Social and humanitarian responsibility is part of our religious and national values. Today the Foundation is leading this effort with all its competence as a charitable arm of social responsibility. It strives to help the community in implementing projects and initiatives to contribute to the development of society along-side with officially accredited entities, institutions and associations.

Founded

The Foundation was established in 2001, based on the will of His Excellency Mr. Hassan Abbas Sharbatly, may God have mercy on him, and by a decision issued by the Minister of Social Affairs No. (22076/u), dated 06/14/1422 AH, under license No. (15).

1914 - 1999

His Excellency Mr. Hassan Abbas Sharbatly was born in the year 1333 AH, in the city of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He finished his primary education in Al-Kutab in Jeddah. He began his work in the field of business and trade with his father at the age of ten, then his brothers participated in business after the death of his father, may God have mercy on him.

He started his own business at an early stage of his life in various types of businesses and commercial activities, and gained the trust of King Abdul Aziz (may God have mercy on him); For importing the main foodstuffs for the residents of the Kingdom and selling them at reasonable prices, which helped him to develop and expand his business fields and investments, the most important of which are: importing food products, real estate and precious stones trade in addition to other sectors such as: communications, press, publishing and others, and also contributed to the establishment of Riyad Bank. He was awarded the title of “Honorary Minister of State”, the first position given to a citizen in the Kingdom’s history. His Excellency, may God have mercy on him, was intelligent and quick-witted, especially in accounting. He achieved a high position and a good reputation in the Arab world and was known as the “Honorable Donor”, and received many awards and medals from several countries in recognition of his donations and charitable assistance to some countries, so he enjoyed close relations with various heads of state and famous scholars.
